Aliyana and Jake Allen
She likes running in the front.... I heard Bell mumble and I nodded. One of the stable hands loaded Confianza and Beyond His Candy into the gate. It was going to be tough but it was just to get the horses ready for the tough competition out there these days. Next it was Aliyana turn to be led into the gates. She pranced forward, about running over the stable hand as she entered the gate. We were in gate number three, Beyond His Candy was next to us and Confianza was in gate number one. You all ready? I heard someone ask and I nodded. I got my self ready, trying to decide on a game plan. I knew that we were going to run 7 furlongs and it was on dirt. Candy and Ali were both front runners and Zazzy was a stalker. I knew he would hang behind till about the last two furlongs. Suddenly the gates flew open, and the buzzer was going off. Ali shot out of the gates like the devil was on her tail. Candy was leading, Ali right behind him and Zazzy last, on the rail. Maybe we could run right behind Candy and make him run harder and trier him out before the last few furlongs.... It was worth a shot. We ran right behind Candy. When we got close, he would shoot forward going faster. Slowly I cloud see our plan was working and Candy started to fade back some. It was our chance. Ali shot around the colt, running forward with such speed and power you would think she was a colt too. When we passed the grey colt, it seemed like Ali was showing off, showing she could beat the boys. Behind us I could heat hoofbeats, it sounded like Zazzy was coming up from behind. He easily passed Candy, and was now gaining on us. Come on girl.. I said pushing Ali a bit more to keep the lead. The palomino filly snorted and pinned her ears back some, pushing her self forward, giving it her all. She had a huge heart. She run her heart out at races and won't give up till the end. That's what I loved about horses like her. The fought so hard each race it wasn't like they weren't trying and they were just running cause they were told. They really loved the sport so they put there heart in it. I seen her dam run years ago as a three year old and I could tell thats were she got this from. Ebony wasn't the best race horses, but she did beat some killer compititoon. She had won a few races against the HOF Rising Fury. And now she was producing killer foals. Ali being her oldest, by a outside stallion. She had a two furlongs left and I gave her the reins allowing her to run faster. Easy girl... I whispered softly as I didn't want her to run to hard. This wasn't a real race... But she was up against the best horses in the stable. We flew by the wire and I slow pulled her down to a trot. Then I noticed it. I was wrong. The colts were three furlongs, battling out who was 2nd and 3rd, Zazzy was never behind us. I grinned and sat down in the saddle, rubbing the filly's golden shoulder. Good girl... I cooed. Princess Aliyana..... Ali's golden coat was damp with sweat, but that was acceptable.
